@Arnab: "History" menu, "Restore from last session..." (the last on the menu on Mac OS X/FF 3.0.6) The dialog box shows each open window as a collapsible element, and each tab from that window is listed with its title and a check mark.

@Neewok and @Jens - thanks for the comments!

Yeah - Cmd/Ctrl+w works, but in my haste I had clicked on another one of the 17-18 tabs I had open. Cmd/Ctrl+w closes the tab in focus - that's why I tried "close-tab". I don't think there is any other FFox shortcut that lets you close another tab "by name", is there?

Now the really interesting part. When I faced this 2 days ago, when I did this 3 days ago, "close-tab" simply closed the tab - I did not have to go through the horrible annoying hundreds of dialog boxes. Today I saw it - hmmm. Man it's really annoying. (Maybe they added it recently?)

But thanks to @Jens, this time the "edit-page" command saved me (it disabled the annoying JS!) That's a win!

@Joe - thanks I did not about this special (clunky) UI. It probably would not have helped me (I had around 17-18 tabs open when I had to do this) - but helps to know for the future.

I just killed FFox and hit the "Start New Session" on restart. Did not see any special menu for opening tabs from the previous session. Are you talking about "Show All History"? Otherwise, how do I get to this UI?

Great fun - but close-tab doesn't do anything that Ctrl-w doesn't do already - at least not when I tried it. You do get to close it - after clicking ok (or "enter"-ing) through a ton of javascript alerts.

But another Ubiquity command turned out to be really effective here - type "edit-page" insted of close-tab - that stops the javascript from messing with the browser immediately.

And, by the way, you could just have closed the tab using ctrl/cmd + W :)

After reading your post I was, like : "hey, if ubiquity can save me, then no problem, why wouldn't I open this site in a new tab and try the same thing you did ?"

But it seems this ****** has added a onbeforeunload event on the page, that display a long serie of annoying dialog boxes right when you want to close it.

Man, that was horrible :/

Y'know, if you tell Firefox to "start a new session," there's a menu option to reopen tabs from previous session which gives you a (clunky) UI to selectively open "some" tabs but not all.
